In 1981, you could get the cassette, Blow Away Your Troubles, for nothing if you wrote to the address in the NME and sent a SAE (remember those...). I loved it - and lost the cassette and lost touch with the Cleaners.... This new album is like opening a time capsule but with modern tunes leaping out. I'm 20 and 59 all at the same time...wonderful. Victor Nicholls

Every time I hear a new song Martin Newell writes I think it's the best song I've ever heard. One of the great pop writers of all time. Dolly Birds isn't new ground for Martin, but who cares? It's another album of consistently great tunes. Not a bad track on here and some that now rank among my favorites. You can't really go wrong with any of his albums but this one is just great front to back. dylandagenais25

I don't know how it does it, but this is another wonderful minimalist piece that is while sonically clear and bright, somehow full of meaning and substance. One of my favourites. stephenwhitmarsh
